I am in the process of editing this book, which is a mamoth task, some 700 pages, many of which may not survive. Like many authors, I find the story goes in its own direction, despite any plans of mine. It gallops off and all I can do is hang on, try to keep the sequences, the dates and the plot working and making sense. It is quite exciting, and I have little idea where it will eventually end.
strangely enough it is the first chapter which gave me the most trouble, it has been rewritten counless times. I hope at last it is as I want it to be....
Set in the nineteen sixties the story deals with a young woman facing difficult changes in her life and how she discovers what she is capable of through dealing with these. In the process, exploring her near past as well as how the distant past calls to her, a supernatural call impossible to ignore.
The process is one most of us face on our journey through life, change is often difficult. She discovers unthought of talents and the bravery to use them....
ME: Always a story teller, beginning with invented stories for my younger brother at bedtime. Later I discover a love of words, reading and writing, which i have to this day. I embroidered and made up stories for my own childen and to classes during my teaching career. with any story I think passion and excitiment is the aim, and hope I offer something others will want to read.
My lack of good health is both a curse and a blessing, the curse in that it restricts my ability to work as hard as I would like. A blessing in that it gives me the time to write, [and paint] having had to retire early.

MY TIP FOR WRITERS;
KEEP READING OTHER AUTHORS, READ ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING.
I find that there seems to be a common well of ideas somewhere out there in
the ether, which as a spiritual person I know very well. A place where we can
pick up ideas, tap into common information, or invest time in what turns out to be
a common idea, thinking it is original to you. Not an ideal situation when you are
trying to produce something uniquely your own.
To illustrate this, when I began writing, the title was ‘The Tangled Webb’, which I
then shortened to ‘Tangled’. A name since used in a children’s film as well as a
series on TV. Because of that, I changed my title, the second being ‘Hidden’.
This too has recently appeared on TV as the title of another series. In addition,
there has since been a book published by a well-known author set in the same
small Somerset village in which I choose to set my own story. I found this place in an advertisement for a house sale. Later, I made a trip to the village for background information, to check locations, distances, atmosphere, and background. For some reason, other imaginative people keep dipping into ideas I thought my own. A strange sort of serendipity. Serve me right for being so slow...
Regardless of everything, I continue to write.Editing seems endless, not always sure I am up to that, I read somewhere it is impossible to edit your own work, well I can second that.
I am the new middle age, many years to go yet. before I give up and fade into dust..
work that age out.... if you can. however, the best thing to about your age is FORGET IT.
Just accept that there are many more books in me yet.
come on you publishers..... I can make you money.
